It has been seen in the previous years during 2005 to 2009 that a group of paragliding enthusiasts have tried to conduct similar events and their wonderful idea has also been appreciated by the award for the innovative tourism in the year 2008.
After a break the same group of the young people have come up again and formed an open membership club with no registration fees for paragliding called the ‘Fly Vagamon Club.’
The president of the club Mr. Vinil Thomas said, "The carnival has chiefly been organized for the purpose of flying together and sharing experiences……..Those who wish to experience the joy of flying can do so with an expert paragliding pilot."

Mr Thomas said that the charge for the 30 minute joyous ride is going to cost 2000 rupees. The paragliders will be taking off from the suicide point at Vagamon ( 1050 meters above sea level) and land at J J Murphy School Grounds in Yendayar near Mundakkayam.
During this carnival a total of 25 pilots form India as well as abroad are going to take part in the carnival that concludes on the 3rd of March. Before the main event the selected candidates would have to attend the training camp that will be held from 15th to the 20th of February, 2012.
Shone George said that, "This year our aim is to train youngsters in paragliding. From next year, the event will be restricted to pilots from Kerala."
