Kerala Health Tourism 2013 Highlight the Emerging Trends and Challenges in Indian Health Tourism

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In order to promote Kerala as a health tourism destination,
the confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with association of the state government, will organize the fourth edition of the Kerala Health Tourism (KHT) at Hotel Le Meridien in Kochi from 31st October to 2nd November.

Kerala Health Tourism was started in the year 2006 and since then the state Kerala is highly promoted as a health tourism destination. After the second Edition of the KHT in the year 2007, there was rise of 30-40% in medical tourist visit to Kerala. The KHT 2011 was also successful, said representative.

This year Kerala Health Tourism aims at highlighting the emerging trends, opportunities and the challenges in the Indian Health Tourism trends. The promotion will also highlight the preparedness of the Indian hospitals. The programme will bring together Indian hospitals, health insurance policy makers, tourism promotion boards, and health travel and tourism operators. It will also associate the international institutions that are in the field of promotion of health tourism.

In this promotion programme other organization International Insurance Companies, Third Party Administrators, airlines, embassies and trade offices, leading hospitals, hotels and resorts, spas and health, travel and tour operators will also participate.

The CII’s ‘MediEquip 2013’ exhibition will also be held in the same venue and in this exhibition; it will showcase the latest models of medical equipment. Tnn

In this MediEquip 2013, companies dealing with the medical equipments, hospital needs and products will be showcase which will target the audience. In this exhibition, more than 400 delegates from the conference ‘national and international’ and above 2000 visitors are expected to participate. The exhibition will open for the public on 1st and 2nd November.
