THE UGC PROPOSED A NEW COURSE FOR ADVENTURES TOURISM

Kerala tourism is opening up new professional horizons for visitors. It starts new adventures tourism packages for active seekers.
Over the last year, the numbers of tourists heading for destination Kerala has more than doubled. In the last season alone, there were over a core of domestic tourists flowed in. With the interest in adventure sports tourism get a new face in these days.
 The University Grants Commission - acting on a proposal by St Thomas College, Pala - has sanctioned a three-year under-graduate programme in the science stream named as ‘Bachelor of Recreation, Leisure and Sports Studies’
 The course will receive the UGC’s full financial support under an aided scheme, enabling students to study on a government-prescribed fee structure. The course gets affiliation from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. The Physical Education Department is offering the fully residential six-semester programme for 30 seats.

This course offered plenty of opportunities for such professionals. The hospitality industry and tour package operators have executive posts of recreation managers and adventure sports experts.
