As to the ‘Best Value Index’ of Trivago, which is one of
the top on-line hotel search site, Nashik is placed at the 21st
position and was voted as the best tourist friendly city of India in this year,
where a night’s stay costs around Rs 5,665 for the travelers. Other ratings
according to the site, the beaches of Varkala in the state of Kerala were
ranked at 28; Jaisalmer in Rajasthan was placed at 41st position, whereas
Alibaug in Maharashtra was at 56 and Munnar in Kerala at 60.
These ratings are awarded to the destinations in the
'Best Value Index', which is based on the annually average overnight costs of a
standard double room, along with the tourist places' altogether hotel repute
from more than 82 million traveler’s reviews. These places are ranked in the
top 100 list as according to the best outcome of the money put in by the travelers.
"It is very good to know that the five cities of the
country are being placed among the top 100 list in the world that shows that
tourism in India has a good prospective as well as being affordable at the same
time when in comparison with other spots of the world. These ranking show the
potential of tourism in India but also reflect their quality in the
international stage,” Abhinav Kumar of Trivago (India) said.
The report also
included UNESCO world heritage site Plitvieka Jezera (Croatia), the pristine beach
of Puerto Princesa (Philippines) and the culturally rich capital Hanoi
(Vietnam), as among the best value destinations across the world.
According to the report, Ait Benhaddou of Morocco has
topped the list of Best Value Index of this year, as to the fact that an
overnight stay in a standard double room in the city is around Rs 3,551 and it
is also one of the 25 destinations in the list that is home to a UNESCO World
Heritage site.
In the second position is Mostar in Bosnia and
Herzegovina, where a night's stay costs around Rs 4,227.
Another place that comes under the same range is the charming
Greek village Chora, abounded by Sahara sand dunes. Ranked fifth in the list is
Nepal’s Bhaktapur, where it costs around Rs 3,551.
