Kerala Tourism planning to launch micro-site to promote MICE and Wedding Tourism destinations

Kerala Tourism is planning to launch a dedicated micro-site within the main website keralatourism.org
to promote the state as an exclusive MICE and Wedding Tourism destinations. This was informed by A P Anilkumar, Minister for Tourism, Government of Kerala. The Minister said that the state can offer both conventional and non-conventional venues for MICE and Wedding groups. Besides picturesque backdrops, there are several options for post-conference tours and activities in the state. Alleppey, in particular, and the house boats have emerged as a hotspot for meetings, conferences, and weddings.
Luxury Tax (LT) has been reduced from 20 per cent to 10 per cent for convention centres and auditoriums; and during off season months the LT on hotels has been reduced from 12.5 per cent to five per cent for supporting MICE tourism.

Kerala is a “boutique” travel destination and many diverse experiences can be rolled into one trip because of the small geographical size. Kerala is a visual splendor with diverse of landscapes backwaters (Alleppey, Kumarakom, and Kollam); hill stations (Wayanad, Munnar, Thekkady), and beaches (Varkala, Kovalam, Bekal), etc.
